Assistant Manager Materials Planner
Materials Planner will be carrying material planning activities for the production and drilling inventory.  
 
The position holder will report to  the Inventory Control Manager and the Cataloguer (Temporary) will report to him/her.
Position Summary

The incumbent will report to the Inventory Control Manager within the Operations Department, will liaise directly with end users, C&P and Ware housing teams and will have a communication link with the operational facilities.
The Materials Planner will support the Inventory Control Manager in all aspects of the department’s requirements, including but not limited toplanning, purchasing, inventory, warehousing, WMS implementation & logistics.  He/She will be required develop the policies and procedures that will link the supply chain/spares issues to the ongoing maintenance programme and provide the structure that will effectively support the success of the Integrated Planning Process. The incumbent will also review the purchase requisitions  for drilling inventory and production inventory and advise the Inventory Control Manager
Key Accountabilities

·         Review the purchase requisitions generated vide the MRP process.
·         Develop a detailed strategy and plan for identification of spares & establishing min/max stock levels with priority being given to Safety Critical, Environmental Critical & Production Critical equipment.
·         Establish a system for identification of obsolescent equipment that will need further assessment in terms of replacement of plant/equipment such  that availability of spares for future maintenance can be assured. This will be part of the structured approach to spares identification & procurement.
·         Finalize a coding system that is in line with the CMMS data structure and that will be utilized for reference spares to be eventually  held in centralized storage.
·         Interface with all departments to ensure that all purchasing requests are satisfied, open orders are monitored and that all material requisitions are issued and documented accurately and in a timely manner.
·         Provide key information to the planning meetings concerning spares/materials availability & deliveries.
·         Set up regular liaison with C&P for prioritization of POs for spares inventory.
·         Focal point of contact for the material requirement for the shut down and campaign activities.
 
·         Ensure inventory levels are maintained to support the strategies that address Maintenance & Operations activities and to readily identify key shortages and place orders/expedite as necessary.
·         Prepare various reports to aid the spares management process including shortage reports to identify priority procurement attention and/or adjustment to activity schedules.
·         Maintain relevant data in the present WMS system item master to include lead-time, order policy, safety stock, minimums, multiples,order quantity, safety offset, and other order modifiers. To assist in the set-up of the same during the implementation of the updated WMS system. Assist in other areas of the ERP implementation as necessary.
·         To coordinate annual count of production inventory and drilling inventory to with the stake holders.
·         Ensure the write off and write on’s are processed as per procedures
·         Quarterly reports are generated and circulated.

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Experience Needed: 
Experience in Materials management, Cataloguing and Inventory count activities will be required


Specialist Knowledge/Languages/Skills:  
 
·          Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation/Chemical/Cvil Engineer and/or a degree in Supply Chain Management with relevant experience in Oil & Gas or Chemical processing industry with experience in spares management activities.
 
·         Proven track record in taking a spares management system from concept to physical establishment of a working system with all spares stored and being controlled.
·         Substantial knowledge of Maintenance Management and Inventory Management aspects and a working knowledge of Technical Standards and Codes.
·         Proven knowledge of CMMS systems (preferably SAP & Maximo) in IM & PM module.
·         Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
·         Collaborating to build strong team and relationships with the internal and external stake holders to improve the deliverability.
