Focusing on the business community, the successful candidate will develop, manage and review relationship management strategies, policy and plans, enabling excellence in service delivery and compliance with legislation.
Key performance areas: • Develop strategy and plans to effectively engage with the business community • Develop an engagement matrix for impactful and relevant business engagements • Develop and maintain two-way relations with the media • Develop content for business community engagement across diverse communication platforms • Regularly monitor and evaluate relations with business community • Drive research to understand needs of the business community for impactful delivery and relationship maintenance • Maintain strategic relationships for purposes of expectation management, knowledge sharing and integration • Drive the implementation of governance, compliance, integrity and ethics frameworks • Develop and enable integrated business processes and systems that ensure sustainable service excellence • Research international investment patterns, identify the needs of prospective investors and develop incentive schemes to attract investment • Ensure effective financial control, corporate governance and compliance • Develop, monitor and deliver on service level agreements • Enhance the organisational image through attendance at events • Share and transfer product, process and system knowledge.
Core requirements: • A relevant Communication degree or equivalent • At least 8 years’ relevant management experience, of which at least 4 years must have been at Senior Management level • Strategic leadership • Knowledge of relevant legislation • Operational financial management, planning and reporting skills • Knowledge and information management skills • Proficiency in policy development, programme and project management • Effective communication skills (including presentation) • Marketing management and strategic planning (brand management) skills.

A negotiated, market-related, Cost-to-Council salary package is applicable.

Appointments will be made on a 5-year fixed-term performance-based contract and in accordance with the relevant legislative requirements.

Candidates will be subjected to relevant competency assessments as well as security clearance/vetting processes.

Note: Successful candidates who do not have the NQF Level 5 Finance Management qualification will be required to obtain it, in terms of the National Treasury Requirement.
