Electrical Engineer at New West Technologies, LLC

Focusing on the transportation, building, power and education sectors, our staff includes engineers, scientists, public energy experts, architects, educators, information technologists, and a variety of meeting support specialists New West Technologies, LLC (New West) is seeking an Electrical Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting project management activities, budget document preparation, and creating presentations related to integrating renewable energy into transmission and distribution networks
• Reviewing and evaluating analysis related to integrating wind energy into transmission and distribution networks
• Interfacing with senior leaders across a variety of U.S. Government Agencies, external stakeholders, and others in the engineering/utility community
• Reviewing and evaluating operations and industry outreach;
Qualifications:
• Understanding of and experience with power system modeling and analysis including: power-flow analysis, distribution system analysis, short circuit studies and power system dynamic and stability analysis;
• Ability to write and produce publicly digestible, highly technical reports and presentations;
• Ability to work independently with management and technical staff members of government programs and national laboratories;
• Ability to meet high quality standards for services and products;
Additional skills, experience and knowledge desired for this position include:
• Knowledge of emerging renewable energy technology trends and impacts;
• Knowledge of and experience with cost of energy (COE) analysis;
• Consulting experience with private sector clients and/or government clients is preferred;
• Understanding of the wind turbine market and associated industries such as power transmission.
Required Technical Skills:
Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite is required. Ability to explain highly technical information in lay terms is required.
