The Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment is dedicated to answering crucial questions about impacts of environmental change on terrestrial ecosystems. The Institute offers comprehensive field and laboratory based facilities and is based on the Hawkesbury campus of the University of Western Sydney at the foot of Blue Mountains, a World Heritage Site consisting of numerous national parks and conservation reserves, and close to the city of Sydney.
The Institute is seeking to appoint a high quality, energetic researcher to the position of Hawkesbury Institute Research Fellow (Level A). This is an exciting opportunity to undertake research in areas targeted towards the interests of Professor James Cook http://www.uws.edu.au/hie/jamescook.
Applicants should have strong interests and experience in ecology and evolution and be keen to investigate how insect/plant interactions respond to environmental change. We encourage applicants who seek to integrate ecological, genetic and evolutionary approaches, as well as field and laboratory studies. Our major field facilities include a Free Air CO2 Enrichment (EucFACE) experiment in native woodland, and our new laboratories include a Next-Generation Sequencing and bioinformatics facility, as well as excellent controlled environment and microscopy facilities.
Remuneration Package: $77,140 p.a. to $81,840 p.a. plus 17% Superannuation and Leave Loading
