Opportunity
Abt Associates is seeking a Health Workforce Management Specialist for the Health Financing and Governance project, a global flagship project of USAID in Haiti focused on health financing, human resources for health, and capacity-building activities. In particular, the activity would focus on the development and operationalization of national human resource management policies, procedures, and systems. The position will be engaged in the coordination with various units and offices within and outside the ORMH and the MSPP. This person is responsible for leading the activities within the Haiti Abt office staff in collaboration with the government of Haiti, donors, implementing partners, and Abt/Bethesda office. The Health Workforce Management Specialist will regularly report to the COP to achieve results and stay on target in regards to workplan, budget, and USAID protocol. Specific duties include:
Coordinate activities on behalf of the HFG project for various units within the OMRH and MSPP, such as the UPE and the Human Resources Directorate Assist with the development and implementation of HR management policies and programmatic interventions
Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related field (e.g. Public Health, Management, Business, etc.) with at least 7 years of revelant experience Demonstrated experience in health workforce management at a national level within low resource settings Demonstrated experience with developing national health workforce policies, developing medical and nursing training curiculuum and accrediting medical and nursing training instutions a plus. Fluent in French and English (oral and written) Experience and ability to work effectively with counterparts and various actors such as senior government officials
