Pathfinder is seeking highly motivated and self driven staff to join a dynamic team to support integrated HIV/AIDS and RH/FP projects supported by CDC, USAID and private foundations based in Dar,
Post Title:            Assistant Finance Officer.

Program Title:     Tutunzane 11 Program (CDC Funded).

Location:              Dar es Salaam (3)

Key Tasks.

  1. Process accounts payable information for management approval and timely payment of invoices. Prepare all payment vouchers for reasonable and justifiable office payments.
  2. Ensure cash banking/deposits, transfer of funds and withdrawals are done on time.
  3. Handle Petty cash funds or supervise the petty cash operations.
  4. Custodian of all accounting transactions.
  5. Physically verify purchased goods against supplier’s delivery notes.
  6. Review requisition and assist control of advances to field staff.
  7. Assist Conduct inventory verification once for each PI budget period with help of the office assistant.
  8. Assist in maintain and update non-expendable items list electronically and manually.
  9. Attend internal and external audit for office with other team members.
  10. Review petty cash request submitted for replenishing.
  11. Review retirements of advances and give feedback.
  12. Summarize monthly disbursements for office operating and administration expenditures.
  13. Review staff time sheets and produce a summary for monthly emolument processing.
  14. Verify Travel Advances retirements before forwarding them to finance officer for its final review and liquidation.
  15. Ensure time sheet file is updated and reflect all changes made after final review by the finance officer.
  16. Process purchase order invoices for compliance with purchase order and receipt verification.
  17.  Generate accounts payable checks on a weekly basis.
  18.   Process and Book Company cash receipts in a timely manner.
  19.  Prepare and update various reports using spreadsheet software.
  20.  Process m-pesa payments.
  21. Calculate and submit statutory returns.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. A candidate should possess a BA degree or Advanced Diploma from a recognized university in Accounting, Finance or Management.
  2. A minimum of two years’ experience in Accounting, Finance  management for public health NGOs or related projects, two of them at a comparable level of responsibility.
  3. Ability to work well with people from diverse cultures and communicate effectively.
  4. Experience with U. S. government contracts and/or federal procurement regulations desirable.Liwith department users on issues related to financial planning,controls
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Attention to detail and ability to prioritize
  7. Ability to maintain confidential information
