Hexcel is currently seeking a Production Supervisor to work from 1pm to 11pm Sunday through Wednesday or Wednesday through Saturday at our Casa Grande, AZ. operation. The Production Supervisor will supervise, educate, coach, and provide motivational opportunities to team members and remove barriers to assure individual and group success and completion of all goals.
The selected individual will be responsible for the following efforts:
Safety and Environmental:
Consistently maintain a safe, clean and secure environment with strong engagement by employees
Strong focus on behavior-based safety through strong leadership, adherence to observation programs and proactive balanced real-time feedback and actions.
Lead role in incident and near miss investigations leading to Root Cause, Corrective and Preventative Actions
Adherence and effective PPE utilization
Promote Department safety goals aligned to Plant and Corporate Safety objectives.
Eliminate actual and potential safety issues, unsafe acts and/or conditions to preclude accidents, to keep Hexcel employees safe
Act as Emergency Response Coordinator when called upon
Performance Culture
Directly supervise hourly employees in area of responsibility. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Establish and maintain a professional and consistent work environment to help ensure Casa Grande remains a viable and healthy facility and provides a satisfactory work environment while maintaining positive employee relations.
Provide leadership through active participation in the development of employees and employee morale. Establish an atmosphere of teamwork to assure the success of the team.
Contribute to the achievement of Plant and Process Management Team objectives by coordinating with the Area Facilitators.
Train, plan, assign, and direct work.
Conduct performance appraisals, issue commendations and disciplinary actions and address complaints/resolve problems for all direct reports.
Participate in interviewing/hiring of employees if appropriate and as assigned by Area Facilitators.
Establish and maintain a professional and consistent work environment to help ensure Casa Grande remains a viable and healthy facility and provides a satisfactory work environment while maintaining positive employee relations.
Comply with Hexcel policies, procedures, and Code of Business Conduct.
Quality, Continuous Improvement and Best Practices
Supervise, educate, coach, and provide motivational opportunities to team members; remove barriers to assure individual and group success and completion of all goals in the following:
* Safety
* Quality
* Customer Satisfaction
* Productivity and Cost Control
* Continuous Improvement (5s, LEAN, Six Sigma, etc.)
Increase throughput, reduce inventories, and reduce operating expenses to continually reduce costs
Implement and improve 5s standards throughout facility.
Use LEAN Six Sigma tools to improve performance.
Operate at all times in compliance with the Hexcel Casa Grande Quality System and Quality Policy
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.), preferably in a technical field, from four-year college or university.
One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with 5s, LEAN and continuous improvement is preferred.
Strong facilitation and communication skills (verbal and written).
Computer literacy including proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite of products
Eligible candidate must be: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, a person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, a temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Act, a person admitted in refugee status, a person granted asylum.
