RF Design & New Site Planning Senior Engineer

Reporting to the Team Manager- Radio RF Design & New site planning, the role holder is responsible for UMTS/GSM Nominal site planning, frequency planning for new sites integration parameters and need definition for capacity, coverage and quality sites. 

The role holder is also responsible for preparation of accurate and timely equipment forecast for capacity upgrades, project plans for major projects assigned, preparation and issuance of redesigns, integration parameters and BTS signoffs.

In addition participate in formulation of frequency planning guidelines and strategies, in trial tests for new features and with optimization teams on periodic review of frequency plans for both existing and new sites.

The job holder will also participate and coordinate MSV's, SAV's and indoor sites, engage the regional teams to optimize new sites further to ensure they meet all the objectives, provide equipment forecasting input, prepare accurate traffic model, plan and coordinate implementation of capacity upgrade plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Continuous review of frequency plans  to accommodate new sites and ensure overall reduction in interference levels;
  • Analysis of traffic trends and generation of capacity upgrade plans in line with traffic models;
  • Planning for new sites in accordance with the agreed triggers for capacity, quality and coverage;
  • Release of accurate nominal plans, redesigns and integration parameters;  
  • Continuous monitoring of new sites quality KPI’s through performance monitoring and drive test;
  • Trigger corrective optimization plans and manage to completion;
  • Ensuring all physical changes are updated on ATOLL database;
  • Performance of routine audit on sites;
  • Maintenance of standards/ BSS rules on all radio database parameters;
  • Prioritization and attendance to coverage related customer complaints and provision of solutions/ recommendations within the agreed time frame;
  • Identification with the intention to forestall potential complaint areas;
  • Participation in trial tests for new features, analyzing the effect of such features in the network and initiate the necessary amendments to the performance tools to ensure accurate reporting of statistics.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical field – Electrical Engineering or Electrical Science, with an emphasis in Radio communications;
  • 3 years of experience in telecommunication with 1 year(s) minimum GSM hands–on experience in Radio Network planning;
  • Practical knowledge on use of radio planning tools and nominal cell planning;
  • Candidates with experience in Huawei BSS/NSN multi Radio BSS and legacy Siemens equipment will have an added advantage;
  • Knowledge in tele-traffic Engineering is a plus.

BSS Technician

Reporting to the Senior Regional Network Maintenance Manager - Rift, Western the holder of the position will maintain the BSS network, all transmission equipment and the related power supply, perform system upgrades and implement proposed solutions to solve BSS related quality issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Network elements fault clearance.
  • Perform proper preventive maintenance of all network elements and document results for owned sites on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure proper site acceptance.
  • Ensure proper contractors control.
  • Proper works Orders execution.
  • Proper use of defined processes and procedures in daily work.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent from a reputable institution;
  • 1 year telecommunications experience in GSM related field;
  • Must be able to work without supervision and meet tight deadlines/schedules;
  • Analytical , problem solving skills;
  • Proactive & self-motivated;
  • 1 year valid Driving License.
Note: This position is located in the Western Region (Western, Nyanza and Rift-valley). 

Successful candidates should be ready to relocate.
 

Research Manager - Consumer

Reporting to Senior Manager- Research & Customer Insights, the successful candidate will Support the brand and product strategy by providing the highest quality marketing intelligence upon which strategic and tactical decisions are made, be proactive in the identification and evaluation of the information needs of the business and the utilization of relevant information, the integration of information as it pertains to the business and Monitor and evaluate the brand and product & service performance - marketing activities and delivery ; Champion and Facilitate consumer insights generation and implementation.

Key responsibilities include;
  • Proactive identification & evaluation of the business information needs and further implementation;
  • Manage research projects for the brand and various products;
  • Monitoring and Evaluation;
  • Being the consumer insights champion within the various product teams and brand;
  • Manage all relevant data for the brand and various products ie continuous tracking information, consumer information, competitor intelligence, macro data etc;
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and competencies:
  • B com /Business statistics or B.A Economics;
  • Minimum 4 years in marketing research;
  • Have a good telecommunication industry experience/knowledge;
  • Sound knowledge of marketing and strategic issues;
  • Have a good understanding of, and desire to get close to consumers/ customers;
  • Good project management skills;
  • Experience of managing qualitative and quantitative research projects;
  • Ability to direct agency in designs, analysis and reporting;
  • Project management experience ;
  • Ability to drive long hours as the job requires about 40% of the time being out in the field

Reporting Manager

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Planning and WF manager, the job holder will be responsible for supporting all analytic efforts of the division’s demands for report development, quality assurance, and analysis as well as support business process improvement efforts including projects to enhance automation, quality, and efficiency.

The successful candidate will be responsible for;
  • Designing, implementing and reviewing of all divisional reporting requirements to capture all call center performance metrics to allow decision making.
  • Managing the Call center information system through defining data entry & extraction points.
  • Defining initiatives to validate Data within the CM System
  • Defining system access matrixes as per security and IT Policies.
  • Driving engagements with internal and external customers to analyze large quantities of data and developing reporting templates and models, as well as performing data validation and ad hoc queries
  • Driving statistical analysis, data mining, extensive visualization and graphing, and development of new methods of reporting.
  • Spearheading engagement with internal/external customers on translating business needs into analytics/reporting requirements.
  • Defining and implementing reporting requirements to monitor Customer Care Budget requirements.
  • Defining inputs for Business Case Justification as part of data mining.
  • Overseeing the performance of staff in the team to perform with clear objectives and career development plans which are regularly reviewed.
  • Developing Reporting capability across Customer Care Division through providing statistical advice and assistance to the senior manager business planning and Workforce.
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Honors Degree from a recognized university, preferably in Mathematics (operations research), finance, accounting or Economics. An advanced degree highly preferable;
  • 6 Years of experience in a similar role within a business environment responsible for resource optimization and  analysis;
  • Experience in building reports and business intelligence tools e.g. business objects;
  • Experience in preparing, monitoring and analyzing budgets and forecasts variances in a large company;
  • Experience in a telecommunications company is preferred;
  • Experience in statistical analysis, financial modeling and forecasting;
  • Experience in programming (SQL) to interrogate datasets will be an added advantage;
  • Good experience in MS office tools particularly advanced Excel.& with strong IT capability;
  • Good planning skills with ability to meet strict immovable deadlines;
  • Ability to understand and work with multiple business data models and interpret data based on business operational functions;
  • Highly innovative with a strong willingness to propose new and effective ways of running the business;
  • Detail oriented and able to ensure the highest level of accuracy in financial analysis and feedback;
  • Strong System savvy and willing to try new ideas and problem solving approaches.
  • Strong analytical skills and with a strong capability to develop and analyze complex data sets and understand their significance to the division;
