Senior Manager Finance, African Region


Context
You will be responsible for providing the financial framework to implement the regional profitable growth strategy and objectives in line with the SES business plan. You will play a key role in the achievement of the Region’s objectives, working closely with the Regional Head and the Regional Sales team, through pro-active finance support embedded locally.

Responsibilities
  • Work as a business partner with the Regional Head, Sales & Legal teams and provide pro-active financial support to the achievement of the regional objectives;
  • Actively participate in customer negotiations;
  • Prepare financial analysis, business modeling and management/customer presentations as required to support customer proposals and contracts in the region;
  • Provide Finance inputs and approvals on customer proposals, contracts and amendments relating to deals in the Region;
  • Ensure that delegation of authority and approval limits are respected by the Regional Head and Sales team;
  • Maintain a close dialogue with the Head of Sales Support and Head of Financial Operations on key Regional financial matters;
  • Monitor & manage Regional credit risk & receivables, working closely with the Credit & Collections team;
  • Provide reporting on Regional revenues and other key regional metrics, in coordination with the Financial Operations team;
  • Coordinate Regional inputs for forecasts, budgets & business plans;
  • Be jointly responsible for the Regional Revenues/costs, together with the Regional Head;
  • Responsibility for compliant procurement processes within the region as well as for regional OPEX-savings target.

Desired Skills & Experience

Experience / Qualifications
  • Proven track record in a similar Commercial Finance role (8 years + experience);
  • Chartered Accountant, Finance degree or equivalent;
  • Strong commercial negotiation skills, strategic awareness and business acumen;
  • Strong communication and presentational skills;
  • Strong process skills and financial systems knowledge;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and ideally one additional language spoken in the region – French being a strong asset;
  • Excellent leadership skills and potential to progress within the business;
  • Ability to evolve into an international environment.
