TECHNICAL TRAINER/ASSOCIATE DATABASE MANAGER

The Technical Trainer/Associate Database Manager will act as the Council’s (CFR) institutional trainer for all applications of the Information Services department. He/she will also assist with the management of CFR’s extensive database.  The principal responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):
Conduct a high volume of staff training using a multi-faceted approach that includes but is not limited to white board, videos, Webex, videoconferencing, and standard instructor-led methods
  • Develop and conduct training on a number of applications; including Microsoft Word and Excel including advanced functions, computer security protocol, use of CFR’s Customer Relationship Management database system, and use of CFR’s ShoreTel phone system
  • Assist with the management of CFR’s extensive database; including duplicate record management, organization and sub-organizations records, updating member records, and quality control of users’ database entries
  • Provide support for record queries; including creation of queries to import files, writing queries for statistical and list building output, and maintaining and documenting existing queries
  • Provide technical support on client software upon request
  • Provide departmental and project support upon request

Qualifications


Preferred Qualifications:
  • BA degree or similar education in a related field, with strong academic credentials
  • Minimum 3  years related experience as a technical trainer in the areas stated above
  • Strong experience in developing training programs in the areas outlined above
  • Strong knowledge of databases, queries, and Boolean logic
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server; pervasive SQL skills a plus
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced functions
  • Strong understanding of relational database theory, design, maintenance, and query construction
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Familiarity with desktop operating systems
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills
  • Proven ability to be a highly productive, results-oriented problem solver; project management experience; ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including periodic staff weekend coverage
  • Ability to lift and carry weight of up to 20 pounds
