UNHCR Shelter Expert
The objective of the Shelter Expert is to assist the UNHCR Lebanon shelter programme in 5 main areas: 1) Assessment of shelter needs and capacity; 2) Development of a shelter strategy and implementation plan; 3) Coordination; 4) Quality assurance and 5) Monitoring of the implementation of the QIPs programme
Key outcomes will include:
Communication of clear guidance and minimum standards to all stakeholders that will build local capacities and improve the quality of shelter programmes.
Planning and implementation of priority works where the basic and essential needs of the displaced population are not yet met.
Planning of future works to improve the living conditions and longer term needs of the displaced population and host community.
Finalization of the strategy and an implementation plan so that the operation is prepared to respond to shelter needs in the event of a mass influx.
Ensure that the QIPs programme is properly implemented by the IP Danish refugee Council and that proper selections are made.
