Job PurposeTo administer the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) content on-board Etihad fleet of aircraft. Responsible for content packaging, verification, quality control, delivery and Loadable Software Airplane Part (LSAP) management on the EFB. Provide EFB back-office support to A380, 787, 777 and existing fleet of Airbus aircraft.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain profound working knowledge of the EFB system's hardware, operating system and installed software applications
  • Ensure that hardware and software applications are configured in accordance with applicable requirements and that their output complies with regulations
  • Ensure that no unauthorized software is installed on any EFB system
  • Perform Quality Control function by the routine monitoring of the EFB system and its administration
  • Liaise with Subject Matter Experts of all applications and datasets to ensure that EFB is always serviced with updated and accurate standards and datasets.
  • Ensure that only valid versions of Loadable Software Airplane Part (LSAP) are installed on the EFB system
  • Perform service reviews with key users and constantly look for areas of improvement. Identify any new application requirements and communicate to Manager EFB - Aircraft and Ground Technologies
  • Manage update cycles and ensure that the updates are always completed on or before the cut-over date
  • Provide support to Manager EFB – Aircraft and Ground Technologies in evaluating and implementing new EFB technologies and enhancements within the Etihad Fleet
  • Maintain an active list of all effective LSAPs for any Etihad aircraft EFB, at any given point of time
RequirementsQualification & Education:
Aviation related degree or License related to Flight Operations
Experience:
  • Flight Operations background
  • Minimum 3-4 years experience in administering an EFB back-office setup of an international airline
  • Familiarity with various EFB functions and terminologies used in e-enablement projects
  • Should have worked with OEMs and vendors in managing, administering and supporting EFB data management, preferably Class III
  • Previous experience in managing a ‘Configuration Management System’, would be an added advantage
Training & Knowledge:
  • Advanced level knowledge of the various EFB components on ground and aircraft
  • Good understanding of Computer Networks
  • Good understanding of aviation data standards and their relevance to EFB
