Berger has been located in downtown Washington, D.C. for over 25 years with a current staff of more than 200 urban planners, architects, engineers, environmental scientists, and cultural resource specialists. We are currently looking for an Architect and/or Senior Architect in our Washington DC location.
Job description:
  • Lead a team in the development of designs, reports, studies, documents and construction administration for new and/or renovated facilities for government and commercial projects 
  • Lead and participate in programming, planning and design charrettes
  • Interact and work with clients, consultants, regulatory agencies and the community
  • Project operational and financial management
  • Assist with studio organization and management
  • Participate in business development and marketing activities
  • Occasional travel to project locations both within the US and overseas 
Basic Requirements:
  • B.A. or M.A. in Architecture
  • Minimum of 8 – 10 years experience working in A/E offices
  • Licensed architect
·         Strong architectural design and production skills
  • Experience with projects incorporating sustainable and energy efficient design strategies is desirable
  • LEED Accredited Professional
·         Strong interpersonal skills and experience and ability to  work with multidisciplinary A/E design teams
  • Experience in the design and production of projects for federal agencies such as Corps of Engineers, Department of State, and National Parks Service is desirable
  • Experience on design/build projects is desirable
  • Working knowledge of AutoCadd/REVIT or Microstation/Bently  is desirable
  • Current active security clearance or eligibility to obtain one
