Project Surveyor - Northern BC Region

McElhanney Associates Land Surveying Ltd. seeks Project Surveyors for our branches in Northern BC (Kitimat, Prince George, Prince Rupert, Smithers and Terrace); these branches are regional leaders in civil, structural & geotechnical engineering, surveying, materials testing and environmental consulting in the transportation, municipal and industrial sectors.

Required Skills

• Leading survey crews on projects; communicating scope and scheduling information to team members, setting expectations, and ensuring timeliness of project tasks; delegating responsibilities, monitoring progress and supervising crew
• Providing mentorship, guidance, and training to assist with employee professional development
• Liaising with Project Managers and clients regarding enquiries and issues; preparing accurate field notes and managing information flow from field to Project Manager to branch CAD technician
• Implementing and ensuring quality assurance on all field returns

Required Experience

• The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in geomatics with at least 5 years of legal, engineering or construction survey experience
• Aptitude for delivering projects on time and budget
• Professional land surveyor designation (BCLS, CLS) is an asset
• Ability to develop and motivate a team of survey staff and work well in a team environment
• Experience with survey CAD software is an asset
• Good communication – verbal and written; ability to produce accurate field notes
• Valid Driver’s License

For certain branch locations, due to site entrance requirements, you will be required to undergo pre-employment and ongoing site access drug and alcohol testing.
