Water Plant Maintenance Coordinator

DESCRIPTION
Coordinates Maintenance activities within the U.S ROWPU , including the distribution network, located in South Park at Kandahar Airfield, under the supervision of the US ROWPU Supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for day to day maintenance activities which includes all associated
  • production equipment, distribution network piping and storage tanks. 
  • Implementing and formatting a preventative maintenance plan ( PMP )
  • Determines and oversees corrections to plant operations in conjunction with the
  • water plant supervisor.
  • Notifies the US ROWPU  Supervisor in case of improper water treatment or equipment malfunction and takes corrective action.
  • Oversees shock chlorination disinfection procedures for installation of new water main and storage facilities,
  • Is available on-call 24/7 to respond to any system failures,
  • Prepares operational reports,
  • Ensures that all precautions necessary for the safety of personnel and property are observed,
  • Organizes shift personnel
  • Responds to line breaks and coordinates repairs.
  • Fills in for US ROWPU  Supervisor in his/her absence
  • Accountable for inventory and work order management of the US ROWPU
  • Ensuring security requirements are followed
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Water Duties Course (equivalent of qualifications required by O Reg. 128/04 (Water Distribution Operators Course).
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Valid Driving License
  • Minimum of five years of water treatment experience including two years of working in a remote environment.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a supervisory role
  • Computer skills – Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have some mechanical aptitude
  • Must be able to read and interpret plans and drawings
  • Class 1 Water Treatment or equivalent
  • Water Quality Analyst  or equivalent
  • Certifications in Electrical, Plumbing or Mechanical engineering or practices.
