Key performance areas include: • Work independently and without supervision • Implement operating procedures to inspect, troubleshoot, modify and maintain rotating equipment/machinery used in the plant • Provide technical support to the production area team to ensure maximum equipment/machinery availability for production to take place • In-depth knowledge of mechanical seals, dry gas seals, and compressor oil seals • Knowledge of vibration and condition monitoring on rotating equipment/machinery • Must be a team leader and self driven • Service and repair rotating equipment/machinery which includes but is not limited to multi-stage pumps, steam turbines and reciprocating and centrifugal compressors used in the plant to ensure maximum equipment availability for production to take place • Inspect rotating equipment and conduct preventative maintenance to ensure maximum availability of equipment for production to take place • Participate in the execution of projects, shutdown and turnarounds being undertaken in the area to ensure that services are delivered on time, to spec and within budget • Perform standby duties as per the standby roster to provide technical support to the responsibility area as required • Update the relevant quality management systems to ensure that all the required information is captured and stored for planning, referencing and audit purposes • Implement SHEQ, housekeeping and the relevant workshop operating procedures to ensure that the workplace is kept clean and safe for operation at all times.

Qualifications & Experience: • A valid Trade Test certificate or NQF4 and a valid code 08 driver’s licence • At least 6-10 years’ experience as a Fitter in the petrochemical industry working on rotating equipment/machinery.
