Finsch Diamond Mine is situated in the town of Lime Acres 165km west of Kimberley in the Northern Cape. The Mine is currently mining at a depth of 630 meters using mechanised trackless block-cave mining.
Section Engineer (Ore Processing)
Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants for the position of Section Engineer (Ore Processing).
Tasks and responsibilities: • Develop, implement and monitor adherence to engineering standards and legislative requirements, taking corrective action where necessary • Allocate resources to project teams in consultation with relevant Section Heads • Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of engineering processes and systems • Drive and implement action plans to achieve the mine strategy and business plans • Set and prepare financial budget for the section • Keep abreast of market trends and new technology • Ensure the effective management and control of human resources for optimal utilisation.
Minimum requirements: • Recognised University degree/National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering • At least 10 years’ experience in mining, of which a minimum of 3 years should have been spent in a managerial capacity • Government Certificate of Competency for Mines and Works • Valid medical Certificate of Fitness or medically fit to obtain one • Ability to communicate in Afrikaans and English (written and verbally) • Computer literate • Code 08 driver’s licence.
