The U.S. Embassy in Pretoria is seeking an individual for the position of Voucher Examiner in the Financial Management Office (FMO).

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications Required:
NOTE:  ALL APPLICANTS MUST ADDRESS EACH SELECTION CRITERION DETAILED BELOW WITH SPECIFIC AND COMPREHENSIVE INFORMATION SUPPORTING EACH ITEM. 

Items 1- 5 are ALL REQUIRED

1.      Education:  Successful completion of secondary school (Grade 12) or equivalent is required.2.      Experience:  Three years of progressively responsible experience in voucher examining, accounting or related fiscal work is required.3.      Language:  English level IV (fluent) reading/writing/speaking is required.  (This will be tested).4.      Knowledge:-          Thorough knowledge of accounting and voucher examining principles, budgeting, procurement, disbursing and internal control systems
      is required.
5.      Skills and Abilities: 
      
-          Basic typing skills for data entry is required.
      
-          Excellent customer service is required.
      
-          Ability to deal efficiently and courteously with a wide variety of contractors/vendors and Embassy staff is required.
      
-          Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite 2007. (This will be tested).

Job Specification

Basic Function of Position:
The incumbent examines a variety of complex vouchers, invoices, contracts, lease agreements and requests for payment of goods and services received on behalf of all serviced U.S. Government agencies located at Embassy Pretoria and Consulates Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.  The incumbent prepares payment vouchers in Momentum, a State Department global customized software application, to Charleston Financial Services Center (CGFS).  Additionally, performs accounting functions by verifying funds availability.
