Vice-Chancellor University of Central Lancashire
Following the introduction of a new Group Structure and Group Chief Executive, the University is now seeking a dynamic and visionary Vice-Chancellor for UCLan UK to drive forward its change agenda, marry academic excellence with commercial pragmatism, and ultimately achieve its ambition of being a world-class modern institution by 2017.
The Role:
- To have full accountability for the academic leadership, management and administration of UCLan UK within the strategic and accountability frameworks established by the Group.
- To be a member of the Group and University Board.
- To accelerate the University's research capacity, outputs and funding; to grow income from applied research and other forms of business engagement; to enhance student learning outcomes, employability and all aspects of the student experience.
- To promote the University externally through the development of meaningful partnerships and collaborations with employers, the community and other key stakeholders across a wide range of sectors.
The Candidate:
- Outstanding leadership and change management skills, with an ability to grasp and apply relevant new ideas and to position the University in the context of a rapidly changing higher education environment.
- Possessing the requisite track record of academic leadership, intellectual standing and personal presence to operate credibly as the leader of a first-class modern University.
- First rate communication and ambassadorial skills with a proven ability to influence at the highest levels across a range of key audiences. Commercially astute with good judgement and the highest levels of integrity.
