Chief of party Jordan


Chemonics seeks a chief of party for an anticipated USAID-funded health communications project in Jordan. The chief of party will lead the project and liaise with all relevant parties including appropriate officials from the government of Jordan, Ministry of Health, USAID, and public and private sector leaders. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:
  • Supervise all project activities and ensure the successful performance of the project team
  • ​Provide strategic technical and administrative leadership
  • Design the project's technical direction including annual work and performance management plans
  • Manage and supervise long- and short-term project staff in the identification of all technical assistance required to achieve project objectives
  • Oversee development of suitable scopes of work and recruitment of consultants
  • Prepare quarterly and annual project activity reports and monitor the progress and pace of project implementation
  • Supervise all institutional subcontracts
  • Serve as the primary liaison between USAID, the ​Ministry of Health, and other collaborating agencies on all pragmatic, administrative, and financial matters

Qualifications:​
  • Advanced degree in public health, policy administration, behavior change communications, health communications, or other relevant field required
  • Minimum 10 years of senior management experience implementing projects in health policy, family planning, or other relevant areas; chief of party experience preferred
  • Experience working directly with host-country governments at both the local and national level to build capacity in public health programs, community mobilization, and communications and monitoring and evaluation of health priorities
  • Experience in behavior change communication, family planning, or maternal and child health
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and ability to plan strategically
  • Experience working in Jordan preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluent English required and Arabic capability strongly desired
