ActionAid (Netherlands) works together with Africans to end poverty and injustice in Africa (Sub-Saharan) by promoting fair and sustainable use of the continent’s natural resourcesAs the Netherlands and Europe exert influence on developments in Africa, campaigning and advocacy are an important ingredient of ActionAid’s work. ActionAid is also actively involved in alliances or networks in Africa in the area of natural resources/extractives and women’s land rights. ActionAid in the Netherlands is a member of the ActionAid International Federation, currently consisting of 43 members in as many countries.
ActionAid is looking for a:
Sr. Programme Officer (36 hours)
This experienced Programme Officer will contribute to the effective management of the Fair Green and Global (FGG) Alliance MFS-II funded activities and related initiatives.
Core tasks:
Overall project management of the Fair, Green & Global grant, including planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting on a programme involving multiple partners and countries
- Serving as main liaison to the FGG Alliance
- Overseeing capacity development initiatives of the FGG programme
- Providing advice and assistance in improving systems and support to partners
- Supporting the development of new funding proposals
Requirements:
Good knowledge of ActionAid themes and issues (experience working in/with African countries is an advantage)
- Experience with complex, multi-country project management (including PM&E)
- Excellent organisational skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communications skills in English (and ideally also in Dutch)
- Pragmatism
- Diplomacy and cross-cultural sensitivity
Offer
The contract is for 36 hours a week starting as soon as possible preferably before 1 June. The appointment is for one year with the option for extension.
