The European Patent Office is seeking an Administrator *

in Department 4.3.4.1 (Recruitment)
(1 position in Munich and 1 in The Hague)
3-year contract

Department 4.3.4.1 (Recruitment) is part of Directorate 4.3.4, Recruitment and Talent Management, in Principal Directorate 4.3, Human Resources. It is responsible for talent acquisition, i.e. attracting, identifying and selecting the best possible candidates to fill vacant positions, thus enabling the EPO to fulfill its short- and long-term goals.

We are looking for two Recruiters to join our team, one in The Hague and one in Munich.

Main duties

  • Support for workforce planning
  • Resourcing
    • Supporting managers and HR colleagues in making the right resourcing choice for their needs.
    • Implementing the EPO employer branding strategy, involvement in social media channels, participation in job fairs and other recruitment events.
  • Talent identification and succession planning
  • Assessment and selection
    • Designing assessment and selection processes to enable managers to make informed choices, based on rich and accurate insights about a candidate’s strengths and areas for development, including chairing selection boards.
  • Induction and onboarding
  • Reallocation and exit processes
    • Managing the Office processes relating to retirement, resignation, dismissal or internal reallocation of tasks in line with organisation need and internal regulations.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate will have:
  • very good knowledge of interviewing and selection techniques, including psychometric instruments
  • knowledge of conventional and innovative sourcing channels
  • highly developed communication skills, both written and oral
  • very good interpersonal skills
  • a service-oriented attitude
  • ability to work in a team and under tight deadlines
  • a proactive and forward-thinking approach, initiative, the ability to develop new solutions when required, and a willingness to take personal responsibility
  • experience in an international working environment.

Minimum qualifications

Diploma of completed studies at university level or – in exceptional cases – equivalent professional experience. Excellent knowledge of one official language** and ability to understand the other two.

The successful candidates will be selected on the basis of qualifications and relevant experience, supplemented as appropriate by interviews, tests and/or a personality questionnaire.

It is intended to hold the interviews in The Hague and/or Munich in weeks 15 and/or 16.
