X-Ray is BBC One Wales’ high profile weekly consumer programme produced by BBC Wales’ Factual Department. The BBC Wales Factual and Music department is a large production area making a wide range of programmes for transmission within Wales and on the main BBC networks and radio stations.
As an Assistant Producer you will research, script, direct and edit items in an original, visual and entertaining way often working under pressure to meet transmission deadlines.
You will assist senior production staff in all stages of a television production or series, with direct accountability for the execution of a specific programme brief within editorial guidelines. To ensure the visual integrity of programmes, directing and/or operating cameras as required.
You will have experience of producing content-rich, entertaining, short films. You will bring strong research skills to the job, along with the ability to tell a story in an accessible way to a wide audience. A keen interest in consumer journalism is essential. You will also have a thorough understanding of editorial guidelines, and the ability to self-shoot, record sound and load into an Avid is highly desirable.
