There is an opportunity for an Assistant Producer to work at Radio 2/6 Music in the Station Sound team based in Western House in London, W1.

Presented by a mix of eclectic and distinct presenters, 6 Music delivers unique programming with credible music and entertainment at its core.

Role

The Assistant Producer, Station Sound works across both BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music. You’ll produce, and assist in producing, trails and imaging for both networks. You’ll also provide production support including booking and paying voice over artists, uploading material to social media sites, submitting music reports, archiving work and assisting in writing and co-ordinating verbal trails on Radio 2.

Requirements

You’ll need to demonstrate a passion for Radio 2/6 Music’s programming and have a strong understanding of subjects which fascinate, entertain and appeal to the audiences of both networks.  You’ll need an enthusiasm for radio, station imaging and interactive entertainment and an innovative and imaginative approach to production. An excellent knowledge of broadcast equipment, live radio production and developments in programme-making methods are essential, as well as experience of digital editing systems and multi platforms. You'll need a good ear for mixing music and audio packages for radio. You’ll also need the ability to work well as part of a team and have a good awareness of Diversity and its importance for programme and website content. You will also need the flexibility to be able to work across various strands.
