Presented by a mix of eclectic and distinct presenters, 6 Music delivers unique programming with credible music and entertainment at its core.

Role

This role is offered as a 6 Month Attachment/6 Month Fixed Term Contract

An Assistant Producer is a multi skilled role which encompasses research, technical operations and radio, online and interactive production work. Assistant Producers generally work to Producers or Editors. (See the job description for the full range of duties).

Requirements

You will need to demonstrate a passion for broadcasting and a comrehensive knowledge relevant to Radio 2 and 6 Music's output (e.g. music, trends, heritage of music and popular culture). You will need an enthusiasm for radio and interest in interactive entertainment and have an innovative and imaginative approach to programme ideas and research. A good operational knowledge of broadcast equipment, live radio production and recent developments in programme-making methods and experience of digital editing systems and multimedia platforms is desirable. You will have good interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to sharing ideas and knowledge and the ability to participate actively as part of a team and be supportive of colleagues.
