NEW YORK UNIVERSITY
The Institute for Policy Integrity at New York University School of Law is a non-partisan think tank ded¬icated to improving the quality of regulatory decisionmaking through advocacy and scholarship in the fields of administrative law, cost-benefit analysis, and economics.
Founded in 2008, Policy Integrity’s interdisciplinary mission is to promote the use of economic analysis in government decisionmaking to improve policy design. Policy Integrity’s docket covers a range of issues, with an emphasis on policies affecting the environment, consumers, and public health. Richard L. Revesz, dean of NYU Law School, is Policy Integrity’s faculty director.
Over the past five years, Policy Integrity has become a well-respected, dynamic organization, influencing public policy debates on a wide range of pressing issues. Through its dozens of publications and participation in nearly one hundred regulatory proceedings, Policy Integrity has become a leading voice, trusted by policymakers, the media, and the public for balanced analysis and incisive commentary. The organization has received funding from leading charitable foundations, including the MacArthur Foundation, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and has received hundreds of media mentions, including in BusinessWeek, The New York Times, Time, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post.
The founding Executive Director is departing to take on a tenure-track academic position at a leading law school.
Position: Policy Integrity is seeking an experienced and committed professional to assume the senior leadership and management role for the organization. The Executive Director reports to the faculty director and supervises all advocacy, development, communications, and research activities. Managing a team of between six and ten full-time staff composed of economists, lawyers, and communications, operations, and development professionals, the Executive Director will be responsible for developing and implementing a multi-year strategic vision for the organization.
Responsibilities: The Executive Director is charged with working closely with the board of advisors, faculty director, and senior management team to aggressively advance Policy Integrity’s mission. The Executive Director will also engage directly in research and advocacy activities and will participate in the intellectual life of the Law School by serving as a panelist at workshops, supervising student projects, and interacting with faculty and other NYU centers and institutes. Policy Integrity also facilitates a regulatory policy clinic at NYU Law; a role in that clinic for the Executive Director is anticipated.
Qualifications: There is a minimum requirement of a J.D. or advanced degree in a relevant discipline, such as economics. Substantial experience in government, business, or the not-for-profit sector, including a proven track record of success in a senior management position is also required.
