Key Responsibilities: • Reporting directly to the Head of Asia, GSMA. Broadly, this person will assist the Head of Asia with the smooth running of the GSMA public policy activities in the region and this includes: o organising and co-ordinating the agendas and actions for meetings (inclusive of CROG Asia and other regional interest group meetings); o planning and co-ordinating all GSMA public policy activities and advocacy programs within the region, and assessing their effectiveness; o identifying and developing new opportunities for stakeholder engagement and capacity building within the region; • Conducting preliminary assessment and opportunities scanning to identify potential stakeholder engagement activities within the region and/or ways to strengthen existing member engagement. Developing appropriate proposals and programs (in consultation with GSMA staff experts and program officers) as a follow-up action to facilitate implementation; • Monitoring public policy and regulatory developments within the region and reporting these to the GSMA Head of Asia; • Preparing and compiling information and/or analysis on telecoms related issues or GSMA public policy activities within the region, as and when required; • Actively liaise and work with GSMA staff experts and/or program officers to ensure that appropriate assistance and resources are provided to members within the region; • Assist to facilitate the implementation of GSMA’s broad stakeholder engagement plans for the region; • Actively engaging with relevant member operators and stakeholders at the national and regional levels with the aim of ensuring that GSMA key public policy messages are conveyed and playing a positive role in shaping regulatory developments within the region; and • Other ad-hoc activities to support the G&RA team, as required.

GSMA – Our role - The GSMA represents the interests of the worldwide mobile operator community. Spanning 219 countries, the GSMA unites nearly 800 of the world's mobile operators as its members, as well as linking them with more than 200 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem (including; handset makers, software companies, equipment providers, Internet companies, and media and entertainment organizations). The GSMA is focused on innovating, incubating and creating new opportunities for its membership, all with the end goal of driving the growth of the mobile communications sector and the role of operators within it. Criteria 
Criteria and Capabilities: • The successful candidate will be a strong relationship builder with solid organisational and planning skills, able to build trust and confidence, and effectively execute on agreed deliverables; • At least 3 – 5 years of working experience, and some industry knowledge of the mobile industry would be an advantage though not necessarily essential; • Ability to adapt to different cultures and to work with cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams is important; • Strong commercial, consulting, legal, public policy and/or government relations experience would be an asset; • Good writing, research and communication skills; fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin. Well able to write reports and contribute ideas in the shaping of the public policy agenda for the region; • Strong project management skills; ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and manage time effectively, sometimes working to tight deadlines; and • A team player, highly motivated to engage with all relevant stakeholders and be able to efficiently work with a wide group of internal GSMA interests and resources, so as to ensure that the GSMA objectives and initiatives for the region are effectively implemented.
