Description GSMA – Our role The GSMA represents the interests of the worldwide mobile communications industry. Spanning 219 countries, the GSMA unites nearly 800 of the world's mobile operators, as well as more than 200 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem, including handset makers, software companies, equipment providers, Internet companies, and media and entertainment organisations. The GSMA is focused on innovating, incubating and creating new opportunities for its membership, all with the end goal of driving the growth of the mobile communications industry. In addition, the GSMA also embraces more than 200 major vendors, partners and suppliers to the industry as Associate Members. These include many of the world’s leading mobile brands, from Ericsson, Nokia, LG and Huawei to major content and internet companies. The GSMA's work is focused on three areas: • Mobile Broadband - Development of a ubiquitous Mobile Broadband infrastructure and the proliferation of devices that will connect the world’s population to the Internet. • Mobile Lifestyle - Creation of innovative services and experiences that are delivered on the mobile infrastructure and unite the attributes of the web and communications world. • Mobile Planet - Leverage mobility to help enrich and improve the lives of individuals across the developing world, bringing services to these markets in a socially responsible manner. Criteria The Role GSMA Ltd is the commercial arm of the GSMA. Our flagship event is the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona each February. MWC is one of the largest business to business events held in the world. The delegate sales exec’ will be responsible for selling the range of congress passes to a pre defined data base of prospects from across the mobile telecommunications eco system. This is a relationship sales role with a diverse range of clients in value, industry and location. Key Skills • Strong communication skills, including strong written & verbal English • Ability to use a needs based sales approach • Sales experience would be desirable but not essential • Ability to work to and exceed pre defined KPI • Initiative in finding new leads • Self starter • Fully computer literate Sales Skills • Selling over the telephone • Getting sales referrals from existing clients • Relationship building • Grasping conference concepts and creating the relevant sales approach • Researching markets for potential leads • Working effectively with other departments • Time management and organisation of work load • Management and delivery of after sales service | ||
