DIRECTOR OF TRADE AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT


The Government of Israel Economic Mission to the U.S. South seeks an intelligent and enthusiastic candidate to grow business and trade relations between Israel and the US Southern Region.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in an international setting with leaders in trade, business development, and technology.

The Economic Mission in Houston represents the Israeli Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Labor and is responsible for facilitating and enhancing trade relationships between Israel and 10 U.S. states in the US Southern Region. You will work closely with the Israeli Consul for Economic Affairs to foster bilateral trade, assist with the entry or expansion of Israeli exporters into the Southern market, organize trade delegations and build relations with Fortune 500 companies and local government agencies. You will also promote foreign direct investment in Israel, help Israeli companies find investment capital, and encourage industrial R&D projects between Israeli and American companies.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Helping Israeli exporters find the resources and contacts needed to enter or expand into the American market.
  2. Identifying potential partnerships between Israeli and American companies.
  3. Assuming all aspects of business development, including cultivating contacts and following news and trends for assigned sectors of the economy.
  4. Cooperating with other organizations, associations, and government offices to plan and oversee events and trade missions.
  5. Promoting Israeli industry to the Southern business community.
  6. Building a network of professionals to help support Israeli business and trade.
  7. Performing administrative and budget related tasks.

Qualifications



  1. 2-4 years of relevant work experience preferred.
  2. Exceptional English writing and communication skills.
  3. The ability to multitask in a fast-paced and intense work environment.
  4. Familiarity with Israel’s economy and business culture preferred.
  5. Hebrew language skills preferred, but not required.
