Field Technician , Hanoi, Vietnam
Under the direct supervision of the Project Field Coordinator, the successful candidate will be expected to perform the tasks as follows:
1. Conduct regular field monitoring of all activities in the project sites especially those of objective 1 and 2.
2. Provide support, if necessary to the partner’s research staff during trial’s site selection, establishment and management of agroforestry trials and nurseries, and ensure that the trials are established according to the agreed design.
3. Monitor data collection activities in field trials
4. Collect data or information, as necessary.
5. Prepare field reports
6. Report to the Project Field Coordinator regularly the implementation status of field trials and other issues arising from the field.
7. Support in organising capacity building activities such as trainings, workshops etc…
8. Maintain good relationship with partners and other stakeholders in the project sites.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Must be a Vietnamese national
- Holding bachelor degree, graduated in agriculture, forestry or related course (having experience is an merit)
- Good command in English written and oral communication
- Proven ability in managing stressful working conditions
- Willingness to travel and stay in remote parts of the project areas
- Ability to work in multi and interdisciplinary teams
- Well organized; able to meet deadline
- Willing to learn new skills/knowledge related to the scope/content of the specified projects.
- Generate creative, practical approaches to overcome challenging situations.
Terms of offer:
- This is a field staff, local-hired fixed term appointment with a competitive salary and benefits package.
- The contract is for a period of 1 (one) year, with high possibility of renewal, subject to 2 (two) month probation period, assessment of performance and availability of resources.
