Job Purpose

This post is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and communications of the Rights in Crisis Campaign (RiC) across Oxfam International. The post works closely with members of the OI Rights in Crisis Campaign Management Team and staff from the various Oxfams and country teams working on different aspects of the campaign. The post-holder will report to and support the Head of the Rights in Crisis Campaign; develop and maintain effective internal communication mechanisms; and will service the Oxfam International Rights in Crisis Project Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day to day support to the head of the campaign in the coordination of the Oxfam International Rights in Crisis Campaign, monitoring implementation and, where appropriate, recommending and implementing any necessary correction;
  • Ensuring procedures are followed and consultation is adequate for appropriate and accountable decisions;
  • Support to the head of the campaign in monitoring all aspects of the campaign's progress against the agreed strategy and trouble-shooting and problem-solving, as appropriate. This may involve active support or project management of campaign areas that are not functioning well, as determined by the head of the campaign;
  • Maintenance of the global strategic and operational plans and calendar for the campaign;
  • Preparation of key planning documents including the updating of strategies and the monitoring of reports;
  • Coordinating the OI Rights in Crisis Campaign Management Team including organizing meetings, the drafting of agendas, preparation of minutes, organisation of conference calls and email sign-ons;
  • Maintenance and improvement of effective internal and external communications systems on the campaign, including content maintenance of the website and intranet; regular contact with key Oxfam campaign leaders, maintaining lists of Rights in Crisis local, regional and affiliate leads and project managers; and, coordination of inputs to a monthly RiC update;
  • Delivery of campaign projects as agreed;
  • Lead on the organization of monitoring and evaluation for the whole of the Rights in Crisis Campaign;
  • Responsible for the (preparation) management and monitoring of the OI RIC Campaign Budget, including preparation of regular financial reports;
  • Contribute advice to the Rights in Crisis Campaign Management Team on the strategic direction for the Rights in Crisis campaign and projects;
  • Project manage the development and implementation of campaign plans and activities within the RiC operational plan as needed.
