We currently have an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer in Durham, NC. We hope you’ll read on to see if you have what it takes to join the revolution.

Summary:

This position will be a part of a manufacturing engineering team supporting all aspects of the LED Chips business operations. The team has responsibilities supporting Nitride Epi, Wafer Fab, and Package and Test.

You will have the opportunity to sustain and improve Opto Chip production manufacturing capabilities, do resource planning (plant, equipment, labor), lead team improvement projects, monitor and improve key operations metrics (Throughput, Cycle time, WIP levels, yield, and productivity) and do production reporting (develop new reports, update, improve, and verify accuracy).

You will also have the chance to promote, lead, and implement lean manufacturing methods, do fixed asset budgeting and management, work on plant layout, work with CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System) model, assist with process change integration into production, aggressively pursue continuous improvement in Support of 24/7 manufacturing and participate in production planning.

You will own capacity planning and expansion organization, participate in quality system compliance and will assist in efforts to drive cost reduction.

Requirements:

BS in Engineering
2-5 years experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Strong analytical skills
Experience with databases and data analysis tools (SQL, Access, JMP, Excel, VBA, etc)

Preferences:

Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering degree
CAD/Layout experience
5+ years manufacturing experience in the Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering field
