Job Purpose
Manages the cabin logistics and galley, stowage design function ensuring safety compliance with aircraft weight and balance procedures. Contractual management of a range of global logistics contacts covering inbound and outbound distribution, shipping, road-transport, warehousing and management of regulatory bodies. Ensures secure and timely delivery of product to warehouses, caterers, lounges, aircraft cleaners and other worldwide locations.

Principal Accountabilities
- Leads and directs the ‘on-board’ cabin logistics, galley planning and stowage design process and team
- Ensures compliance with aircraft weight and balance regulations
- Ensures regular physical audit plan at catering units to ensure galley and stowage packing compliance
- Lead, develop, implement and manage an effective global warehousing strategy commensurate with the global sourcing strategy for cabin products
- Ensures logistics and warehousing strategies uphold the principles and policies for a responsible corporation and in particular environmental sustainability
- Designs processes and procedures and supporting documentation to ensure consistency in logistics services
- Maintains a set of service standard metrics using a scorecard system with agreed targets
- Ensures logistics service standards are maintained by measuring conformance to processes and achievement of scorecard target metrics
- Develop and maintain an efficient, effective and cost competitive ‘outbound’ 3PL logistics operation within and from the UK
- Design, develop and manage a global ‘in-bound’ 3PL logistics and transportation service to enable delivery of the cabin products to a designated warehouse or global delivery point, ensuring optimised unit consolidation and overall delivery cost management
- Ensure global customs legal and revenue handling compliance and local government licensing at bonded warehouses
- Directs sourcing and contractual negotiation with all 3PL providers
- Responsible for measuring and managing logistics and warehousing supply chain risk and implements contingency strategies to protect BA product deliveries
- Keeps up to date with transport and logistics industry trends, developments and supplier base. Makes recommendations to BA on future innovations and strategy

Essential Qualifications
- Member of recognised supply chain or logistics professional body
- Educated to a degree/HND level or equivalent
- Airside Driving Permit
