You will execute revenue management strategies and methodologies to support the delivery of BA’s revenue, surcharge and volume targets. Working as part of the Revenue Management team you will make commercially driven, price and inventory decisions.
 
Your decisions will be derived from analysis of your own route portfolio, that you will be responsible and accountable for. This is a varied and rewarding role that provides an excellent introduction to both BA and it commercial organisation.

About the day to day

  • Reporting to the Pricing and Inventory Manager you will contribute to achieving route and team revenue targets for a defined set of routes
  • Through the commercial application of standard processes, defining and executing revenue improvement strategies and management of special events you will ensure optimal seat access and revenue for all market segments. You will also optimise the relationship between seat inventory controls and public fares. You will set, monitor and update controls and rules that determine our point-to-point price products. The role includes the implementation of standard set-up to set appropriate network and channel availability as you deliver day to day Engineering, Planning and Special Event activities.
  • You will analyse supply and demand for passenger air travel and implement strategies to optimise revenue for British Airways by identifying pricing and inventory opportunities, managing risks and resolving issues.
  • You will frequently (at least weekly) review and monitor route revenue performance, at the appropriate level of detail, in line with Revenue Management business cycle, in order to identify inventory control and pricing actions to improve revenue outcomes.
  • You will regularly review BA product and competitive positioning in the market, including competitor intelligence and analysis
  • You will contribute to ongoing development of best practice working methods and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures / Best Practice in terms of yield and demand set up and other inputs to automated revenue optimisation systems.
  • This role involves working as part of a route revenue team responsible for a revenue target of up to £1bn per annum. Working with internal stakeholders predominantly within Sales and Marketing and overseas airports to achieving team revenue targets for defined routes.

About you

Your experience in commercial decision making through analysis will have allowed you to identify and focus on activities where effort creates new value for a business.
  • A degree in a numeric based or business discipline, or ability to demonstrate capabilities gained in a revenue management environment combined with strong analytical skills is needed.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills will support your analysis to all levels in Revenue Management. This will be combined you’re your ability to manage your own workload and build effective relationships across the business.
  • Fully systems literate, you’ll be able to contribute ideas for systems development in areas such as demand forecasting and inventory optimisation. You’ll also have a working knowledge of the systems and processes of Revenue Management

This role is based at BA’s corporate headquarters Waterside. Situated in 260 acres of parkland it offers an internal street and many onsite facilities e.g. Waitrose, hairdresser, gym, bank etc.
