Please be aware that for a standard secondment, your home Administration/Agency/Service/Government will be responsible for all of your salary/remuneration, social insurance, pension contributions, welfare benefits, family allowances, benefits during your assignment at INTERPOL as well as travel, removal expenses related to your arrival at and departure from INTERPOL and any other related costs depending on your circumstances.  However, in this particular case, INTERPOL may consider partially/fully contributing to the remuneration of the selected candidate.  Therefore, it is requested that you obtain in writing, confirmation from your home Administration/Agency/Service/Government whether it agrees to second you and which option it choses (standard conditions of secondment or Paid Secondment).
INTERPOL is the world’s largest international police organization, with 190 member countries. Created in 1923, it facilitates cross-border police cooperation, and supports and assists all organizations, authorities and services whose mission is to prevent or combat international crime. INTERPOL is now looking for a qualified candidate to serve as Coordinator in the Command and Coordination Centre Sub-Directorate in the Regional Bureau in Buenos Aires which is part of the Operational Police Support Directorate (Executive Directorate Police Services).

Introduction to post:
Under the supervision and guidance of the Assistant Director, Command and Co-ordination Centre, the incumbent is in charge of co-ordinating the daily activities of the Command and Co-ordination Centre (CCC) in Buenos Aires and any other file/activity pertaining to it.
In addition, the incumbent is responsible for the staff of the CCC in Buenos Aires, providing them with guidance, and ensuring the proper and timely implementation of the policies and decisions of the hierarchy, in compliance with the Organization's priorities.
The Coordinator will maintain working relationships with all staff members within the organization and heads/staff members of National Central Bureaus (NCBs), officials from law enforcement agencies, international organizations and visitors outside the Organization.
Primary duties:
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, Command and Co-ordination Centre, the incumbent performs the following duties:
1. Implements and co-ordinates daily and ad-hoc tasks of the CCC in Buenos Aires;
2. Supervises and evaluates staff members assigned to the CCC in Buenos Aires and proposes training or changes to work methods/procedures if deemed necessary;
3. Provides pro-active guidance and analytical studies for hierarchy’s decision to ensure the development of the CCC;
4. Acts as central point of contact for internal and external clients with respect to the CCC and represents the CCC on behalf of the Organization, when and if required;
5. Replaces the Assistant Director, Command and Co-ordination Centre, in his/her absence to ensure the smooth running of the CCC;
6. Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
All candidates will be assessed on the following requirements
Training and Experience
• Senior police officer;
• Experience in an operational support role is required; 
• Background in computer systems, particularly in criminal databases is required.
Special aptitudes required
• Ability to work in an international environment;
• Ability to think and plan strategically;
• Ability to work with minimal supervision;
• Staff management skills;
• Good interpersonal skills;
• Good communication skills, both written and oral;
• Self-motivation and initiative;
• Attention to detail;
• Computer literacy.
Languages
• Fluency in English and Spanish is required;

In addition to the above requirements, the following assets and special aptitudes
would be an advantage
Assets:
• Knowledge of another of the Organization’s official languages (Arabic or French) is an asset.
Working conditions
• Remuneration:  For this specific secondment, INTERPOL may consider partially/fully contributing to the remuneration of the selected candidate
• The incumbent may be required to work overtime depending on workload, and to travel abroad as part of his/her duties.
* The Organization plans to establish a Global Complex in Singapore by fall 2014. Although no decisions have been made at this time as to which posts will be transferred to Singapore, acceptance of the post implies acceptance of a transfer to Singapore.
