Parliamentarians for Global Action Secretary-General


Parliamentarians for Global Action, (PGA) invites applications for the position of Secretary-General, PGA. Duty Station: PGA Headquarters, United Nations, New York, USA.
PGA is a non-profit, non-partisan organization of elected legislators from 120 countries affiliated with the United Nations that leverages parliamentary processes to promote peace, international law, human rights, gender, equality and reproductive health.
The Secretary-General is the chief administrative officer, appointed by the Board of Directors and reporting directly to the Chairperson of the Board, responsible for PGA’s day-to-day affairs, including managing its 14 person Secretariat.
Key accountabilities include establishing and maintaining appropriate governance frameworks, setting corporate objectives, fundraising, networking and advocacy, and leadership.
The ideal candidate should have:
  • 10-15 years of administrative and managerial experience in government or business;
  • Proven fund-raising experience;
  • Advanced academic qualifications, preferably in international affairs;
  • Fluency in English with competence in French or Spanish;
  • Wide multi-cultural experience;
  • Ability to understand and work in a politically sensitive environment
