The Department/ College

The Department of Natural Science and Public Health, which is part of the College of Sustainability Sciences and Humanities, is an interdisciplinary department whose undergraduate programs include public health, environmental science, and psychology.  The Department also takes the lead in the University’s graduate program in Healthcare Administration.

The Opportunity

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to the goal of developing environmental scientists and managers for the U.A.E. and to display leadership in curriculum development and research.  Faculty is sought who can offer high-quality teaching and research in areas such as Environmental Science, Sustainability Science, and Energy Science, and help develop innovative interdisciplinary courses and programs. Evidence of teaching excellence and experience is important. Preference will be given to those able to help develop programs, teach at the undergraduate level, and contribute to the general education science program.

The Requirements

Doctorate degree in one of the following: Environmental Science, or Environmental Management disciplines
Well-defined and relevant research agenda and/or professional environmental consulting experience (e.g. environmental or energy management, urban planning)
Relevant teaching experience as well as active research/professional interests
Student-centered and innovative approach to teaching
Experience with one or more of the following is desirable: environmental chemistry, environmental microbiology, energy sciences, geo-sciences, environmental impact assessment, environmental management and regulation, environmental health, ecology, or physics.
