Scope of employment

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain current and new applications and web services
• Serve as technical lead on development projects
• Participation in full software development lifecycle including requirements analysis and design
• Responsibility for developing solutions and implementing features at all layers of the applications
• Understanding of multiple SDLC concepts, experience in an agile environment a plus
• Understand complex business flows, and work closely with QA to resolve issues
• Design and develop software in a group or independently
• Lead technical design and development reviews
• Responsibility for ensuring code testability, good code coverage and maintainability
• Assist in formulating standards and development practices across multiple related teams
• Ability to mentor junior developers

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software development experience (non-academic) with demonstrable experience and fundamental understanding of layered Java Web Applications. A good understanding of transactions, aspects, ORM mapping, and web security is important
• Experience with Spring, Groovy, Maven and other Java related technologies
• Good fundamental and hands-on knowledge of with Oracle SQL Database
• Knowledge in OO development principles, multi-tier web application design and relational database principles
• Web-based development experience; involvement with large-scale, high-volume web-based systems is preferred
• A track record of producing testable, maintainable code, working in an agile environment with short development iterations is preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Czech language is not required)
• Experience working in a regionally distributed development group is preferred
• Solid understanding of design patterns
• Experience with working in a multi-team environment is a plus
• Ability to communicate directly with all levels of technical and business resources
• Excellent analytical skills, understanding of project life cycles, and ability to act in an entrepreneurial manner to ensure the software delivered matches the business communities’ needs
