Title: Instructional Designer/Senior Instructional Designer

Description: North Bethesda health and human services consulting firm seeks a smart, inventive Instructional Designer or Senior Instructional Designer to join our Instructional Media Center. This onsite position (full-time telecommuting is not an option) requires minimal travel. The Instructional Media Center works with diverse project teams to develop online, mobile, and blended learning in support of client objectives. Our goal is to create engaging, effective learning experiences that make a real performance difference, using both proven and emerging technologies. Minimum Requirements: • 2+ years of experience (5+ years for Senior level) developing and designing online and blended learning solutions incorporating graphics, audio, video, animation • Experience with design for mobile learning highly desirable • BA/MA in Instructional Design, Instructional Systems Technology, Multimedia, or related field • Understanding and application of adult learning theory to design of course materials and activities, interface design, instructional architecture, use of assessments, evaluation metrics • Understanding of Web 2.0/social media to enhance and extend learning • Ability to apply Section 508 accessibility standards to online learning • Ability to clearly and persuasively communicate complex issues in writing and orally • Proficiency with creating storyboards and mockups to communicate with clients and developers • Attention to detail, ability to review work for quality control essential • Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline highly desirable • Experience working in a consulting firm framework and with Federal agencies a plus
