Senior Community Associate, Telecommunications Industry

SENIOR COMMUNITY ASSOCIATE
TELECOMMUNICATIONS INDUSTRY
 
The Telecommunications Industry team is part of the World Economic Forum’s Business Engagement team and manages relationships with key telecoms players, from global multinationals to smaller, innovative newcomers in the digital landscape. The team’s main objective is to build the world’s foremost community of leading telecoms companies and to engage them in the Forum activities to improve the state of the world and advance the industry’s critical issues in collaboration with government and civil society.
 
As Senior Community Associate reporting to the Head of Industry, you will manage and develop the Forum’s community of Partner companies in the Telecommunications sector. You will have direct responsibility for existing and potential Partners and will create and implement strategies for engaging them in relevant projects and initiatives as well as in the Forum’s Annual Meetings, regional events and thematic roundtables held throughout the year. These responsibilities will require you to interface with company contacts and senior executives, monitor industry issues, develop communications plans and marketing materials and represent the industry perspective in programme content across the Forum.
 
Your responsibilities will include:
• Relationship management: You will manage the relationships for the Forum’s existing and potential Members and Partners to help drive action. In particular, you will ensure that senior executives participate in strategic engagement with the Forum’s projects and events.
• Marketing and outreach: You will develop a comprehensive marketing plan for the Telecommunications Community (i.e. outreach materials, marketing communications, blogs, identify speaking opportunities), and conceive, produce and update all marketing literature, including websites.
• Business development: Through building high-level networks in the sector, sophisticated marketing and disciplined outreach, you will contribute to the development and growth of the Telecommunications Community.
 
You have demonstrated leadership capabilities, business success and an interest in global affairs. You have a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and between 3-5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in the telecoms, media and tech (TMT) sector. You possess a broad intellectual background, are comfortable with delivering presentations to senior executives, highly service-oriented and a flexible team player. You are fluent in English and at least one other language.
