As Senior Media Officer reporting to the Head of News and Current Affairs you will lead our media response within the ‘Enough IF’ joint NGO anti-hunger campaign. The campaign has been developed to put pressure on our political leaders to take action to fix the world’s broken food system that sees over 870 million go to bed hungry every night and over two million children dying  from malnutrition each year although there is enough food in the world to feed everyone.

Your role will be to build our brand, profile and impact through on, off-line and broadcast media whilst ensuring we remain a leading, appreciated and active team player within the joint campaign. Our first point of contact, you will coordinate activities and work with ActionAid colleagues to develop media assets that maximise impact and reach You will deliver media plans in line with strategic objectives, create a consistent flow of engaging content, build networks as well as monitor, evaluate and report on effectiveness.

With substantial experience working in media relations, print or broadcast journalism in a national, high profile organisation you are skilled in obtaining influential media coverage and have developed excellent knowledge of the media landscape. You will have expertise in targeting different audiences, the ability network effectively and the skills to coordinate multiple projects.
