The Department of Media, Music, Communication and Cultural Studies is a vibrant, interdisciplinary department offering a range of programs in critical inquiry and creative practice. The Department is seeking a dynamic lecturer to contribute to our International Communication program. The successful candidate will teach in both the BA and Master of International Communication degrees, supervise higher degree research students and undertake research. The successful candidate will have an established research track record and clear research strategy for the future.
Selection CriteriaTo be considered for this position, applicants must respond to the selection criteria below and attach as a separate document in the application process.
  • PhD in Communication or related area
  • Evidence of high quality tertiary teaching in International Communications or related disciplines, including some of the following areas: Intercultural Communication, International Public Relations and Advertising, Cross-cultural Communication, Public Diplomacy, Development Communication
  • Experience in unit or program design
  • Evidence of an established research career in scholarly publications
  • Provision of a coherent and intellectually ambitious medium-term research strategy
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience in teaching highly internationalised classes
  • Experience in higher degree supervision or postgraduate teaching
  • The ability to work collegially and collaboratively
  • Experience in, and commitment to, academic administration
Salary Package:  from $85,295 - $100,919 p.a. (Level B), plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
