Reporting to the Plant Engineer, as the Maintenance Planner you will plan all maintenance work in advance in order to maximise the use of resources and minimise equipment downtime.
 
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Planning maintenance and infrastructure activities for allocation of tasks, hours, skills, resources and special services
  • Allocating work requests to correct area code and component.
  • Ordering and validating materials, services, drawings, etc.
  • Maintaining programming database and provides comprehensive reporting and administrative services.
  • Keeping the Plant Maintenance Engineer and Maintenance Controllers informed on all planned maintenance workload and backlogs
  • Developing and maintaining Planner reference systems (library) including a file of planned job packages for recurring jobs, plus labour and material libraries for each equipment centre.
  • Maintaining and improving safety, health and environmental standards and practices.
  • Performing fair and reasonable tasks related to the job and working environment, at the discretion of your Leader.
To be successful for this role, you will have attained a minimum of N5 or N3 in an Engineering discipline with a trade test supported by a minimum of respective 2 or 5 years maintenance planning/scheduling/ assessing experience in a heavy industrial environment. Your high level of SAP planning, analytical and problem solving and resource/asset utilisation skills will see you succeed in this role.
