Processing Plant Shift Leader AngloGold Ashanti

AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) is the world's third largest gold producer with 20 operations in 10 countries on four continents.   AGA employs over 62,000 people globally.  In Australia, AGA operates the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine and is developing the Tropicana Gold Mine in which it has a 70% interest and is manager.  Independence Group NL holds the remaining 30%.  The Sunrise Dam and Tropicana operations are both situated in WA.

Tropicana represents the most significant Australian gold discovery of the last decade.  The new, large scale open pit gold mining operation will produce 3.45 million ounces over a 10 year mine life (approved project).  Construction began in 2011 and first gold is anticipated in the December quarter of 2013.

We are now seeking a Processing Plant Shift Leader to join our Processing team at Tropicana Gold Mine.This role is a based on a FIFO 8/6 roster from Perth or Kalgoorlie.

Accountable to the Production Superintendent, this role is responsible for supervising operations staff to ensure that safety, environmental and work quality standards are met.

The main tasks of the role include but are not limited to:

• Supervise operations staff
• Confirm that safety, environmental and work quality standards are met
• Assist in the development and training of team members
• Monitor and maximise process plant performance
• Authorize work and accountable for equipment isolations

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A minimum of 4 years' experience in operating mine site fixed plant infrastructure
• Experience in leading a team, planning and scheduling tasks
• Proficient in safety, environmental risk management skills
• Sufficient knowledge of the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Act to supervise Production activities
• Familiar in process control and SCADA systems
• Experience in using a computer based ERP system, preferably SAP and intermediate skills in MS Office
• WA C Class Driver's license
• Cert 4 qualifications in training is highly desirable
