Public Affairs and Communication Officer EAA

European Aluminium Association (EAA), a European association representing the aluminium industry value chain in Europe, is looking for a Public Affairs and Communication Officer to support the Public Affairs and Communication Department. Please note that this is a one-year contract (ideally, the candidate should start in the beginning of January).

Main tasks:

  • Conduct research on relevant policy areas;
  • Daily monitoring of current and upcoming legislative developments;
  • Monitor and analyse the digital and media environment;
  • Attend external meetings organised by European Institutions and other relevant stakeholders;
  • Support in the organisation of internal and external events;
  • Contribute to the editorial process of EAA publications;
  • Participate in editing presentations, website and newsletter;
  • Assist in the development of industry positions on relevant topics and conduct research on them.

Essential skills:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar position;
  • Be fluent in both written and spoken English (ideally native English speaker), other languages a plus (French, German);
  • Be a graduate in European Studies, Political Science, Communication or Law;
  • Have a thorough understanding of the functioning of the EU Institutions;
  • Experience in communication and good intelligence of Brussels-based media a plus;
  • Good communication skills; comfortable when speaking in public;
  • Ability to produce clear and concise minutes and reports and to draft reader-friendly information;
  • Have excellent command of Windows Office package;
  • Quick thinker, flexible and service minded.
