Applications are invited for an independent research fellowship in the broad area of Integrated Earth System Modelling hosted by the Ecosystems and Biodiversity Discipline in the Open University's flagship Centre for Earth, Planetary, Space and Astronomical Research (CEPSAR). The post is one of six Research Investment Fellowships aimed at enhancing expertise in research areas of strategic priority for the Faculty of Science.
We are looking for an individual with an outstanding research record in an area related to Earth system modelling or integrated assessment modelling who will contribute to and enhance the value of existing research in this area. Relevant topics include, but are not restricted to: climate and Earth system modelling; palaeoclimate modelling; integrated assessment modelling; climate economics, policy or socio-economic modelling; climate impacts modelling. We are particularly interested in candidates who are active at the interface of natural and societal dynamics.
You will have a PhD or equivalent in a subject related to environmental science; a strong track record of independent research evidenced by high-impact, REF-eligible outputs, excellent communication skills and a willingness to engage with a wide community of researchers, policymakers and stakeholders in promoting your research activity. As part of the application you will be asked to provide a detailed research plan.
