Duties | |
We are looking for a Senior Health Specialist to take on a stimulating and challenging role working in the second largest sector of the Australian Government aid program. As a member of our agency wide health network, the Senior Specialist will contribute to technical quality and best practice across AusAID health policy and program areas and drive efforts to reduce poverty, primarily in the Asia Pacific. The position reports to the Principal Sector Specialist and Head of Profession for Health within the Policy and Sector Division. An essential requirement of the job is a post graduate degree in international public health, international development or the equivalent. You will also require at least 10-15 years’ experience in health or a health related discipline in international development with strong leadership, technical, planning, analytical and communication skills. We are particularly interested in candidates with policy and program experience in maternal and child health, health financing and health systems strengthening in low and middle income countries. | |
Eligibility / Other Requirements | |
The position is open to Australian and non-Australian citizens. For Australian citizens, employment will be offered on an ongoing basis. Non citizens will be offered an initial contract of 18 months with the possibility of extension and transition to ongoing dependent on Australian residency and citizenship status. | |
