Shift Supervisor: Molten Product Transfer

 

Located in the KwaZulu Natal province and managed by Rio Tinto, Richards Bay Minerals (RBM) is an internationally recognized sand mining and mineral processing operations leader and is one of the world's foremost producers of titanium minerals, high purity pig iron and zircon.

 

RBM comprises of two operating companies: Richards Bay Mining (Pty) Ltd and Richards Bay Titanium (Pty) Ltd. employing some 2 000 permanent staff and a number of well-established contracting companies. RBM is impacting positively on the lives of thousands of families within the surrounding communities who benefit from RBM's intensive social investment programme.

 

Reporting to the Plant Superintendent, as the Shift Supervisor MPT you supervise and control the activities of support staff to optimize production in accordance with predetermined procedures, programs and standards.

 

           

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising and controlling the activities, standards of performance and behaviour and the training and development of designated subordinate staff
• Ensuring that all process consumables and other production requirements are ordered and received timeously
• Ensuring the plant is properly prepared in terms of cleanliness and that basic repairs to equipment are effected
• Maintaining and improving safety, health and environmental standards and practices
• Performing fair and reasonable tasks related to the job and working environment, at the discretion of the supervisor.

To be successful for this role, you would have attained a minimum of a Matric or N3 with Maths and Science subjects coupled with 5 years process plant experience in a mining industrial environment, with 2 years in a supervisory capacity. Knowledge of molten metal transfer will be an added advantage
