Position Summary Provide Well Engineering expertise and lead the execution of drilling operations of Offshore Wells from a Jack Up Drilling Rig in accordance with BG HSSE and Well Engineering standards. It is not a Rotational Assignment. Reports to Asset Drilling Manger Reportees - offshore drilling team, well accountant, Operations drilling engineer Peers - Well team leader

Key Accountabilities  Drive HSSE performance on the rig during the drilling operations. Act as per HSSE improvement plan of the asset, follow rig assurance process and drive for zero injury. • Ensure robust well designs and drilling & completion  programmes that meet the requirements of the BG Well Engineering Standards. Full account should be taken of offset information and the well sanction budget. • To make all the preparations to start the operations with the new rig. -Arrange for   third party audit of the rig as per BG standards, HSSE induction of the crew and other arrangements for safe operations. • Conduct regular audits on PTW, Well Control, and crew competency. • Responsible for the execution of all well engineering related operations. Maintain a record of all design assumptions and Management of Change. • Ensure an auditable trail is maintained for all decision making during the drilling operations. • Ensure that all drilling lessons learnt are captured and maintained. • Contractor management: Supervise 3rd party contractors involved in the drilling operation by clear communication and co-ordination of requirements to ensure an efficient service is supplied. • Use the Top Quartile Framework to deliver the well objectives in a cost effective manner without and harm to people or the environment. • Compile all well engineering documentation and records needed for consent, well examination, handover and audit as required. • Foresee that the performance data for each well is maintained as applicable. • To provide inputs during HAZOP, HAZID and rig move meetings.       Every individual has a duty to both themselves and those around them to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times. Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute Experience Needed:  Extensive experience of working in similar capacity with an Operator.A through understanding of HSSE MS implementation on a jack up rig. Good understanding of OISD requirements and BG HSSE standards.   Experience as a Drilling Supervisor would be considered an advantage although not essential Experience and be considered expert in operational aspects of well engineering. Understanding of the use of industry recognized Well Engineering software such as Wellcat, Stresscheck, Drilling Office, WellPlan, Compass    Specialist Knowledge/Languages/Skills: - Educated to degree level or equivalent. - Demonstrable commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental performance, his/her behavior is influential to others in the organization. Conversant with the industry-standard Drilling Engineering software packages, i.e. Compass, Stresscheck, WellPlan, etc. - Must be a self starter, inquisitive and confident to pursue new designs and withstand challenges from peers. - Must be able to work independently with minimal peer assistance / supervision. - Must be able to work in a multi-cultural environment
