Deloitte East Africa provides seamless cross-border services to multinationals, large national enterprises, small and medium sized enterprises and the public sector, across 4 countries of the region: Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia.
Deloitte Tanzania has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to join our Building Organizational Capacity for Results (BOCAR) program in the role of Project Director.
The BOCAR program is a 5 years US$ 10 million project funded by United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and other multi-donor to implement capacity Building activities. It is managed by Deloitte as the prime and East African support unit for NGO's (EASUN).
Brief Job Description
The Project Director will be responsible for the overall management of the program, creating opportunities to link the building of capacity of larger CSOs with smaller CSOs, and making sure that the grants management and organizational capacity-building components directed at smaller CSOs are coordinated. Additionally, s/he will liaise with USAID, partner and client CSOs, and the RFE Steering Committee, and ensure that the publicity and promotion component is conducted successfully.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities

Supervise project staff to ensure effective program delivery
Oversee project planning, monitoring and evaluation, and to ensure that measurable outcomes are attained
Ensure clear communication with donors and the steering committee
Plan and manage project budgets
Prepare regular reports on project activities for donors and the steering committee.
Represent the project in meetings with Government officials, donors and partner organizations.
Perform other duties related to overseeing duties for the project as be required

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Social Science, Business Administration or public health or any other related field
Must have proven ability to ensure high quality program outcomes with high level of accuracy and timeliness.
Ability to interact with senior government officials and donor representatives to ensure coordinated efforts.
Skills to initiate and implement project activities with minimum oversight and supervision
Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate in a credible and effective way with variety of professionals strong organizational skills, attentive to details and ability to work on both strategic and operational level.
Must have attended US Award and Contract administrative and financial rules and regulations training

Experience

Minimum 10-15 years experience, with at least 7 years direct international experience, designing and implementing large and complex programs in developing countries.
Experience working in collaboration with government departments like ministries, local governments, commissions, steering committees etc
Experience working with US donor funded programs is highly preferred
Experience in working with other international donors and multinational organizations on a coordinated program effort in developing country setting. Demonstrated cultural and diversity awareness
